FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (Pending) OS Independent with XTS-AES 256-bit Hardware Encryption

United Kingdom The Kingston IronKey Keypad 200C is a hardware-encrypted USB Type-C drive that puts convenience and security at your fingertips. It was introduced today by Kingston Technology Europe Co LLP, a flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., a global leader in memory products and technology solutions. Now, when using USB-C equipped devices, users may enjoy seamless data security and effortless interoperability without the usage of adapters.

For simple PIN access, the KP200C offers FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (Pending) certified military-grade security in an OS-independent alphanumeric keypad. It includes XTS-AES 256-bit hardware-based encryption, Brute Force password attack prevention, BadUSB protection, and digitally signed firmware to provide unrivaled levels of safety for your priceless data. The keypad can be used to build up an easy-to-remember alphanumeric PIN for the Admin or User accounts with the Multi-PIN option (Admin/User). If a user forgets their PIN, the administrator can reset it to give them access to the drive.

The need for data protection is expanding as breaches brought on by Cloud penetrations, cracked software encryption, or misplaced USB drives increase in frequency. According to Oscar Escayola Kaloudis, EMEA Flash Business Manager and Sales Manager DACH, Middle East and Africa, Greece and Israel, “Sensitive data requires the strongest military-grade protection available on hardware-encrypted drives that can be physically secured off the Internet while protecting the data in-transit and at-rest.”

With the arrival of KP200C, our second USB Type-C drive to the IronKey portfolio joining the Vault Privacy 50C, we now provide even greater versatility across numerous platforms and operating systems, enabling customers to access data without difficulty on any device or system. Available in sizes up to 256GB, the Kingston IronKey Keypad 200C comes with a 3-year warranty and free technical support.

Features and Information for the Kingston IronKey Keypad 200C

 Kingston's IronKey Keypad 200 Series

• Level 3 (Pending) FIPS 140-3 Certified: KP200 has passed certification lab testing and is currently undergoing NIST’s review process for final approval. It now complies with the new FIPS 140-3 Level 3 military-grade security criteria issued by NIST. The drive’s security capabilities and tamper-resistance are significantly increased by this improved version of the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 requirements. It protects against Brute Force and BadUSB attacks with digitally signed firmware and XTS-AES 256-bit encryption. Its circuitry is protected by a coating of durable epoxy that prevents attacks against the semiconductor components and makes it nearly impossible to remove components without destroying them.

• OS- and Device-Independent: Because the KP200 runs on a rechargeable battery, it may be plugged into any system that accepts a USB Type-C mass storage device after being unlocked using the keypad and no software. The most flexibility across many platform types and operating systems is provided by doing this for users.

• The Multi-PIN option allows users to set up either a User or an Admin/User mode. Should the User PIN be lost or if the drive is locked after the allotted 10 User login attempts, Admin can be used to restore the User PIN and grant access to the disk.

• Global and Session Read-Only (Write Protect) Modes: The drive can be put to a session-based Read-Only mode to guard against malware on untrusted systems. This mode can be set by both the administrator and the user. A Global Read-Only mode that places the disk in Read-Only mode until reset can also be established by the administrator.
