The folding device with a tiny form factor and teething troubles is called the Google Pixel Fold
The Pixel Fold is Google’s first attempt at creating its own folding device. The expectations are proportionally lofty as a result. After analysing the foldable smartphone, we have compiled a list for you below that highlights the most crucial elements.
The Pixel Fold is Google‘s first attempt at developing a foldable smartphone. It has a distinct appearance compared to other foldable smartphones on the market since, when folded, the device has a stocky structure rather than an extended one. This gives the impression that the smartphone is rather small. During the course of our assessment, we came to the conclusion that this is really satisfying.
The foldable display on the inside is 7.6 inches and has an aspect ratio of 6:5, while the larger panel on the outside measures 5.8 inches. Google’s offering comes with both displays. Both are capable of operating at up to 120 Hz and reaching extremely high levels of brightness. The foldable screen features a display fold seam that is rather obvious, and the frame itself is relatively bulky as well. With a weight of 283 grammes, it is considered one of the heavier foldables.
The Google Tensor G2 serves as the brains behind the Pixel Fold. Although it belongs to the best of the best, it is unable to compete with the most powerful SoCs from the previous year. The new Google Pixel 3 has 12 gigabytes of RAM and either 256 or 512 gigabytes of built-in storage space. Memory cannot be expanded with a microSD card at this time. The smartphone also features certifications for 5G mmWave, UWB, wireless charging, and IPX8 protection against water and dust. This ensures that the Pixel Fold may be used in wet environments. The triple camera system performs well as well.
This is all well and good, but while we were doing our evaluation, we ran across issues with the display. These do not relate to the device’s stability, contrary to what one may immediately presume when presented with a foldable, but rather to the ambient light sensor. It is possible for it to get extremely hot when it is subjected to intense light, which causes the system to significantly lower the display’s level of brightness. The sunlight readability of the foldable OLED screen is drastically reduced since it only lights up at 465 cd/m2, which is far lower than the standard brightness of over 1,000 cd/m2.
Putting everything to the side, Google has produced a genuinely decent foldable smartphone for its debut, and it is available from. The Pixel Fold may be purchased from Google on an individual basis.

The Pixel Fold features a hot spot in the region of the display that detects ambient light after the display has been dimmed.
