Exploring Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro’s eSIM Shift

We have so far obtained some fascinating information on Google’s future flagship phones, and the Pixel 8 series is scheduled to make its debut in the month of October, which is still this year. The Pixel series has been exceeding expectations for some time now, and the flagships for this year are anticipated to be even more impressive in comparison to everything else that Google has been doing. The information presented today should be taken with a grain of salt since we have seen rendered images of both devices that have been leaked, and we even know the specifications to some degree.

The removal of the SIM card slot from the Pixel 8 by Google is not a major issue

It has been said that neither the Pixel 8 nor the Pixel 8 Pro would ship with a SIM card slot, but if this turns out to be true, it will allegedly only be the case in some areas and not everywhere else. Since Google is working on methods to make it simpler to move between SIM cards and, well, the iPhone 14 already does not have a SIM card port in the U.S. models, this really should not come as a surprise.

Mishaal Rahman, who saw the renderings that OnLeaks had previously provided, was the one who discovered this. It would seem that the renderings of the Google Pixel 8 that we have been seeing for some time do not have a SIM card slot on the left side of the device. This absence does raise some questions, since all of the other Pixel smartphones that have been seen in the wild have had the SIM card port located on the left side of the device.

Even if this is the case, it is essential to be aware that CAD-based renderings often leave out some elements, and the omission might be due to simple carelessness on the part of the designer. If this is the true, then there is a possibility that the Pixel 8 will have a SIM card slot.

Again, until we start seeing more renderings of the Pixel 8, we won’t be able to confirm much of anything. Therefore, all you can do is wait and watch what happens. On the other hand, Rahman does point out that there is a SIM card port on the gadget, which is something that can be seen in one of the videos that have been stolen of it.

You can anticipate marketing materials and press renders for the Pixel 8 series to begin leaking at any time now. The Pixel 8 series is scheduled to be released at the beginning of October. We will make it a point to keep you updated on everything and everything that comes to our attention.

It is my opinion that it will not be a problem if the Pixel 8 series totally does away with the actual SIM card since eSIM is the way of the future and more and more firms are starting to provide this option. In the event that this does occur, it will very certainly be a decision that is unique to each area, since numerous regions currently do not have an eSIM service accessible to them. Whatever the circumstances may be, be assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available. So keep an eye out!
