The Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 80 External SSD is the company’s first creative OS-independent hardware-encrypted external SSD with a touch screen for data protection. It is FIPS 197 Certified and XTS-AES 256-bit Encrypted. VP80ES’s digitally-signed firmware protects against BadUSB and Brute Force attacks. By default, if the Admin and User passwords are input incorrectly 15 times in a row, the drive is crypto-erased by Brute Force attack protection. With XTS-AES 256-bit encryption and a Common Criteria EAL5+ (CC EAL5+) certified secure microcontroller, the drive satisfies TAA requirements and is certified FIPS 197.

Vault Privacy 80 External SSD is made to be as easy to use and secure as unlocking a smartphone or performing drag-and-drop file transfers. Compared to using the internet and cloud services for data security, Vault Privacy 80ES is better since it has an easy-to-use color touch screen and a multi-password (Admin and User) option with numerical PIN or passphrase modes.

The drive is perfect for small-to-medium enterprises (SMB) and content creators, whether they are storing critical company data, client documents, or high-resolution photos and videos. To make connecting to computers and other devices simple, it comes with two USB 3.2 Gen 1 adaptor cables: USB Type-C2 to Type-A and USB Type-C to Type-C. When you require safe data and content whether working in the field or traveling, the VP80ES is the ideal partner because it allows you to be productive and convenient wherever you are.

The administrator can enable a user password and configure security settings, including alphanumeric password rules, a limit number of shared attempts, and a minimum password length of 6-64 characters. Moreover, you can use the character “space” to help you remember a passphrase, such as a list of words, a memorable quotation, or the lyrics of your favorite song. If not, unlock the PIN pad as you would on a mobile device, and hit the “eye” button to view the password as typed to lessen irritation and unsuccessful login attempts.

Additionally, the Admin password can be used to access data and restore User access in the event that a User password is forgotten.
