Unveiling the New Kingston CUDIMM Modules for the Intel 800-Series Chipset

Introduction

The Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5 CUDIMMs, which are compatible with Intel’s new 800-series chipset (formerly codenamed Arrow Lake), will soon be available, according to Kingston Technology Europe Co LLP, an affiliated with Kingston Technology Company, a global memory and technology pioneer. The first platform to use clock drivers on CUDIMMs (Clocked Unbuffered Dual Inline Memory Modules) is Intel’s 800-series chipset. JEDEC requires that UDIMMs and SODIMMs have a Client Clock Driver (CKD) at 6400MT/s DDR5. This part improves the signal integrity to the module by buffering and re-driving the clock signal from the processor. These enhanced modules are called CUDIMMs and CSODIMMs by JEDEC to distinguish them from DDR5 UDIMMs and SODIMMs.

Overclocked Kingston FURY Renegade RGB and non-RGB CUDIMM modules start at 8400MT/s in 24GB single modules and 48GB dual channel kits. Kingston FURY UDIMMs with XMP and EXPO profiles are also compatible with Intel 800-series motherboards because they share a 288-pin connector with CUDIMMs. It is advised, therefore, to confirm compatibility using the QVL (Qualified Vendor List) provided by the motherboard maker or by looking up supported speeds and capacities in the Kingston Configurator.

Iwona Zalewska, DRAM business manager at Kingston EMEA, stated, “Our new 8400MT/s CUDIMM modules have undergone extensive testing, been certified by the leading motherboard manufacturers, and are Intel XMP certified on the new Intel Z890 motherboards with Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors.” “Overclockable DDR5 CUDIMM modules allow us to reach more professionals who want highest performance and signal integrity.
