However, several Arrow Lake chips have been surfacing over the last few months, and Intel have some new updates courtesy of @InstLatX64.

With in Intel’s test platforms, three new chips have been found, and the log files for these systems have provided some intriguing information. An Arrow Lake-S 24-core, an Arrow Lake-HX 24-core, and an Arrow Lake-H 16-core component are the three chips. The important part is the base clock speeds, even though the core configurations are nothing new 24C/24T and 16C/16T processors have also been seen in the past.

A base clock of 3.6 GHz is assigned to the Intel Arrow Lake-S 24 Core and 24 Thread processor, an increase of +600 MHz over the previous entry (3.0 GHz) and +400 MHz over the previous desktop flagship, the Core i9-14900K. The Intel Arrow Lake-HX 24 core and 24 thread CPU has also been sighted with a 3.0 GHz base clock, which is an increase of +800 MHz over the previous HX flagship, the Core i9-14900HX. This chip is expected to have a die layout similar to the desktop SKU.

Intel Arrow Lake-S 24 Core and 24 Thread already know that the upcoming lineup will be slightly more power-efficient than the 14th Gen Raptor Lake and 1st Gen Core Ultra chips, so things are looking great for the lineup. If these are the base clock speeds of the new Intel Arrow Lake CPUs, then Intel has really tuned them to be much higher than the existing parts.

AMD’s flagship Ryzen 9 9950X CPU, which has 16 Zen 5 cores, 32 threads, and a maximum clock speed of 5.7 GHz, should be compatible with the 5.7 GHz rates. Although the speed will be -100 MHz slower than the Core i9-13900K, the IPC enhancements should offset the clock speed regression. Furthermore, this is a new node; 13th and 14th Gen chips could only achieve such high clock rates because they employed an improved “Intel 7” technology.

The Core i9-12900K was the first chip in that generation to achieve boost clocks of up to 5.2 GHz. However, in order to achieve the promised clock rates, the later chips had to employ extremely high power consumption, which did result in a number of issues that consumers are currently encountering. In order to maintain stability across games and programmes, Intel had to modify the power limitations, which resulted in a decrease in clock speeds and performance.

The first member of the new family, Intel’s Arrow Lake-S CPUs, are probably going to be released in October.
