Qualcomm Technologies International, Ltd. has expanded its Qualcomm S3 Gen 2 Sound platform portfolio, targeting dongles and adapters, to provide an exceptional gaming and audio experience. The updated platform now includes support for Snapdragon Sound Technology, ensuring optimized performance. With the integration of Snapdragon Sound and LE Audio features, latency below 20ms is achieved, delivering lag-free gaming audio. Furthermore, OEMs can leverage this platform to incorporate Auracast broadcast audio functionality into dongles and adapters, allowing seamless connectivity with devices such as phones, laptops, and TVs.
The enhanced Qualcomm S3 Gen 2 Sound platform is specifically designed for gaming, combining Snapdragon Sound and LE Audio to provide ultra-low latency, ensuring lag-free wireless audio and enabling in-game chat with a voice back-channel. When used exclusively for game audio, the latency is further reduced, enhancing the gaming experience.
The platform also supports the latest LE Audio Auracast broadcast capabilities for dongles and adapters. This functionality transforms devices such as TVs, phones, laptops, PCs(Security with Qualcomm), and consoles into premium broadcast platforms, enabling users to share audio content easily. With Snapdragon Sound and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive audio technology, the platform supports high-resolution Bluetooth streaming at 24-bit 96kHz, ensuring premium music playback with exceptional audio quality.

In terms of gaming, the platform is optimized for adapters used in audio sources. When combined with Qualcomm S5 and S3 Gen 2 based earbuds and headsets, it ensures reliable connectivity and dynamic latency adaptation based on the external RF environment. Gamers can freely move away from their consoles or PCs while maintaining uninterrupted audio and participating in chat sessions.
