LG Gram Upgrade: RTX 3050, Meteor Lake, 2-In-1 Pro Magic!

RTX 3050, Intel Meteor Lake Arc iGPUs, and a 2-In-1 Pro variant are included in the LG Gram update

Meteor Lake Arc Graphics are included in both Gram and Gram Pro, with Pro providing an additional option for an integrated RTX 3050 for even more graphics capabilities.

The LG Gram range of laptops has been updated, and a new line called LG Gram Pro is now available with an optional 2-in-1 “hybrid” tablet-laptop form factor.

The official renderings of this new LG Gram laptop range are seen below. All updated LG Gram models have a maximum RAM configuration of 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM operating at 7467 MT/s. The maximum capacity for twin PCIe 4.0 SSDs is 1 TB on the Gram and 2 TB on the Gram Pro. Here are the complete specs and setup choices.

  • The LG Gram 14, the entry-level model. For the whole non-Pro range, it is available solely with Arc iGPUs in a 60 Hz, 1080p version with a 350 nit LCD panel and no separate graphics option.
  • The LG Gram 15 is very identical to the 14-inch variant, however it now has an upgraded LCD IPS screen option.
  • LG Gram 16: This model raises the resolution of the non-Pro LG Gram range to 2560 x 1600 and has a 400 nit brightness screen with VRR compatibility.

Almost exactly the same as LG Gram 16, but with a 17-inch diameter.

LG Gram Pro 16-Inch: This entry-level Pro model comes with an 1800p OLED screen or a 1600p IPS LCD screen as an alternative. Both have a 400 nits brightness rating and enable VRR; however, the IPS can achieve 144 Hz, while the OLED can only reach 120 Hz. At 120 Hz, OLED’s innately slower reaction time should still provide for a more responsive gaming experience. Accepts RTX 3050 dGPU configuration.

The LG Gram Pro 17-Inch is very identical to the 16-inch model, although it has a little bigger screen and no OLED option.

The LG Gram Pro 2-In-1 16-Inch has the same configuration possibilities as the 16-inch model, but with a more compact design. Exclusive to Arc iGPU. Models lacking a separate GPU are filled up by the Meteor Lake Arc iGPU. Lately, the Radeon 780M iGPU lost its position as the best performance under Windows and Linux to the Meteor Lake Arc. Due to the lack of an OLED or discrete GPU option, the non-Pro LG gram laptops are now much more enticing than they would have been otherwise.

However, the Gram Pro versions’ high-refresh OLED and Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics choices make it somewhat more enticing. Regretfully, the 2-in-1 variant is only compatible with the Arc iGPU.

It is heartening to see, meanwhile, that more entry-level laptops are becoming capable of offering competitive current gaming experiences. When compared to previous generation Intel laptops, even the 14-inch model boasts really good integrated graphics.
