Intel 14th Gen Raptor LakeHX Laptop Refresh Include Core i9-14900HX, i7-14700HX, i7-14650HX, i5-14500HX
Intel has announced that its 14th Generation Refreshed Raptor LakeHX processor will soon be available in brand new laptops that are geared at the high-performance gaming market.
Intel has released its 14th generation Raptor LakeHX refreshed central processing units, which will further enhance high-end gaming laptops.
According to a post made by Momomo_US, it would seem that Intel is working on at least three 14th Generation Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs specifically for the laptop market. These central processing units (CPUs) are going to be geared at high-end gaming solutions, and some SKUs are going to arrive with a spec upgrade that will give more performance improvements than 13th Generation chips did. The following processors for Intel’s 14th Generation Raptor LakeHX refresh family have been discovered via various means:
- Core i9-14900HX (eighteen plus sixteen)
- Core i7-14700HX (eight plus twelve)
- Core i7-14650HX (eight plus eight)
- Core i5-14500HX (six plus eight)
The main product will be the Intel Core i9-14900HX, which will have the same number of processing cores (8 P-Core) and execution cores (16 E-Core) as the Core i9-13900HX chip that is already on the market. This will be followed by the Intel Core i7-14700HX, which will include 8 Physical Cores but a configuration of 12 Execution Cores.
This is a 50% increase in the number of Execution Cores compared to the Core i7-13700HX, and it should deliver a considerable performance increase. It has also been said that the Intel Core i7-14650HX would feature an 8 P-Core and 8 E-Core chip. This will be an improvement over the 13650HX, which had a configuration of 6 P-Core and 8 E-Core respectively. Last but not least, there is the Core i5-14500HX, which is identical to the Core i5-13500HX in that it has 6 P-Core and 8 E-Core processors.
All 14th-generation Raptor LakeHX Refresh CPUs will include an increased clock speed, in addition to the core spec hike that will be available on specific SKUs. There is a +200 MHz increase included in the Raptor Lake-S Refresh chips, thus it is possible that the laptop refresh will also have a comparable clock hike. In addition to that, the enhanced configurations will contain more cache, which might be beneficial for gaming applications.
The central processing units will also come with redesigned designs that accommodate the greater thermal envelopes and TDPs that these chips have. It seems that the majority of 14th-generation laptops will make use of NVIDIA’s RTX 40 GPUs. This is because RTX 40 GPUs are the most premium graphics solutions that can be found on mobility platforms.
Launch of the Raptor LakeHX 14th Generation Refresh CPU family is presently planned for early 2024 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). After the chips have been officially released, there will likely be a flood of new laptops on the market. The successor to the 14th Generation family, the Arrow Lake-HX chips, will be released later, maybe in the early part of 2025. We covered these chips here not too long ago.
