ASUS Released Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD

The Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD, which ASUS unveiled today, is the first graphics card in the market with an M.2 slot, enabling a smooth cooling upgrade for high-performance NVMe SSDs.

New Concept for M.2 Storage

Fundamentally, this card is identical to the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB in terms of its incredible characteristics. With the addition of DLSS 3.5 and frame generation, third-generation RT Cores and fourth-generation Tensor Cores provide remarkably lifelike real-time ray tracing experiences, allowing this graphics card to push the boundaries of visual fidelity in contemporary games. Sleek and small, using just one 8-pin PCIe® power connector, the Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD fits into practically any existing configuration.

On the back of the card, there’s a unique cutaway where the true star of the show is hidden. The Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD is the first consumer graphics card with an integrated SSD slot, supporting M.2 2280-sized NVMe SSDs. An M.2 drive installed on the Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD has the potential to take the place of the motherboard’s M.2 slot reserved for the CPU. This provides some strong arguments for switching to an M.2 solution installed on the GPU.

ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Specs

Cooling Capabilities

Although the RTX 4060 Ti is a PCIe 4.0-compliant GPU, the drive will function at full PCIe 5.0 speed if the user’s system supports both the motherboard and the NVMe drive. In order to ensure direct contact with the CPU, ASUS advises placing the Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD in the top PCIe slot on the motherboard. This card is a simple option for people who want high-speed, long-term storage in their gaming computers because it has no negative effects on graphics performance during gameplay and no read/write penalties to storage.

Instead of installing this drive directly on the motherboard, why not? Unlike conventional motherboard M.2 slots, the twin GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD has twin Axial-tech fans that not only keep the card cool during gameplay but also lower the M.2 drive’s operating temperatures. A thermal pad is pre-mounted in the M.2 slot of the Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD, enabling installed M.2 SSDs to directly access the graphics card heatsink and its enormous cooling capacity. In comparison to typical motherboard-mounted M.2 slots, ASUS testing indicated up to 40% lower temperatures on the drives when they were coupled to the Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD, allowing longer sustained read/write performance and guaranteeing long-term stability well into the future.
