The upgraded stacked camera sensor design for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models will improve low-light performance.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models will be unveiled by Apple next month, maybe on September 13 along with the new Apple Watch Series 9. But it’s never too early to start speculating about what the business might have to offer in the upcoming year. Numerous details about the iPhone 16 Pro and how it might represent a greater improvement than the next iPhone 15 Pro versions have already been shared. A well-known analyst claims that Apple is considering to use a stacked sensor arrangement to improve the camera system on the iPhone 16 Pro versions.

According to analyst, the iPhone 16 Pro models will all include stacked cameras as part of a significant camera improvement.

A stacked camera sensor will be included with the iPhone 15 models as well, but the ‘Pro‘ models won’t receive the hardware improvement. All four models are anticipated to include the technology for improved picture and video taking capabilities the following year. The news was announced by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in a Medium blog post, stating that the upcoming basic iPhone 15 models won’t receive the upgrade due to production yield issues.

Be aware that this year’s iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will include a good number of camera improvements. The 48MP camera on both devices is anticipated to use a stacked CMOS sensor for low-light shooting when they are first released. The sensor will permit more light to get through the lens, improving low-light conditions and playing a critical role in adding more details to photographs.

The analyst also notes that Sony will have a significant impact on the supply of CMOS image sensors, or CIS, for the iPhone 15 versions this year and the following year. To avoid shortages before the release of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, Apple has secured orders in advance. We have previously heard information about the iPhone 16 Pro camera improvement. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will reportedly include an improved 48MP sensor, improved telephoto, and improved ultra-wide lenses.

The iPhone 15 Pro models are anticipated to include significant modifications that range from the device’s design to its internals, even though the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro launches are still more than a year away. The ‘Pro’ models are also anticipated to feature the A17 Bionic chip manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm process for enhanced CPU and GPU performance along with improved efficiency for greatest battery life. This will be the first time Apple will introduce the iPhone models to a titanium build, offering a lighter but stronger design.
