Titan Quest II: Gaming on PC

Titan Quest II, an open-world game powered by UE5, has been announced for PC and consoles

Undoubtedly, the announcement during Titan Quest II was one of the most exciting moments of THQ Nordic’s 2023 Digital Showcase. We expected THQ Nordic for selecting Pieces Interactive to work on the game after setting the path for a sequel with the late Ragnarök expansion to the original. Titan Quest II has been given to Munich-based developer Grimlore Games while Pieces is occupied on the newest Alone in the Dark game. SpellForce III, a hybrid real-time strategy and role-playing game, was released by Grimlore. THQ Nordic began considering giving Grimlore the top-down hack-and-slash sequel after that game was released.

Ancient Greece, as it was portrayed in Greek mythology, is where Titan Quest II is set once more. The story’s central theme will be fate, who is involved in modifying it, and what it implies to the people, which should come as no surprise to those who are familiar with the subject. Nemesis, the Goddess of Retribution, in particular, has gotten out of hand. She is tainting the Threads of Fate and punishing everyone who disagrees with her. Naturally, it is the player’s responsibility to prevent Nemesis.

Unreal Engine 5 will power the new game’s open world layout, which has a lot of verticality and may be explored with the help of a divine mount by the name of Areion. There will also be a cycle of day and night.

A focus on more tactical combat will be one of the differences from other hack-and-slash action RPGs like Diablo or Path of Exile. Although it will still be fast-paced, it will be less of a clickfest to give players more freedom in their tactical gameplay.

The first entry’s capacity to combine two classes was one of its key characteristics. In Titan Quest II, this function will be enhanced so that players can freely mix two masteries and hunt for synergies that can be used to create the ideal playstyle.

Although it is unknown how this feature would function in reality, it was also stated that foes might “form factions and work together to combine their abilities and skills.”

According to the fact sheet, Titan Quest II will also allow multiplayer for co-op and PvP. On an indeterminate date, the game will be made available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
