Designing for Joy: Creative Journey Behind Eva Cremers’ Galaxy Watch6 Series Character Collection

Watches represent our personality as well as tell time. Samsung Electronics and Dutch artist Eva Cremers are making it easier for Galaxy Watch6 customers to show off their flair with a new assortment of cheery characters.

Netherlands-based 3D illustrator and animation director Eva Cremers. Her lively, graphic CGI aesthetic matches the Galaxy Watch6 series‘ larger, brighter display and improved interactive interface.

Eva spoke with Samsung about her design journey and how her Galaxy Watch6 characters can be 24/7 sidekicks.

Q1. How was collaborating with Samsung on Galaxy Watch6? Your creative process?

Certainly! This Galaxy Watch6 cooperation with Samsung was great.was requested to create a variety of wacky characters for consumers to pick from. These characters were developed for hobbies like listening to music or playing sports, so we could experiment with personality features in ours own way.

Most projects start with plenty of sketches exploring characters and discussing ways to represent activities to make them interactive. To optimise the Galaxy Watch6 experience, we worked directly with the Samsung team to fine-tune colour palettes, textures, lighting effects, and character movements.

Q2. What are your and Samsung’s responsibilities in this collaboration? How was this partnership different from others?

In this relationship, Samsung and we had different duties. Samsung’s technical competence helped me build a variety of distinctive Galaxy Watch6 characters. The crew allowed me tonnes of creative freedom, and we loved seeing my characters in various settings!

This partnership was interesting since we created figures people could carry around. we have to consider how to create ubiquitous, broad-appeal personalities.

Q3. You designed Galaxy Watch6 watch faces for Ball, Frog, Flower, Heart, and Abstract. What distinguishes these characters?

The Ball character suits sports fans. Its liveliness and bounce make it a great running buddy. Frog is a wonderful character, but he gets tired when the power is low! For nature enthusiasts, the Flower figure always knows the weather, alerting you. The Heart figure loves music, so play some and watch it groove! Finally, Abstract sticks out with its strong, geometric, and colourful design. Abstract even responds to messages, making communication lively and visible.

Q4. What inspired these characters?

Classic cartoons and characters have always inspired adore lively characters!

Imagining how people use their timepieces throughout the day inspired these characters. The Galaxy Watch6 series’ versatility inspired character skills and appearances. An active basketball helps you workout, and a drained frog alerts you of low battery.

Q5. Explain the design process. What was hardest? How did you feel after seeing the end product?

had to work tiny and make sure character movements matched the watch screen, which made design difficult. Despite these challenges, happy to finish the project. adore seeing my characters out in the world and knowing people will bring them wherever!

The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series makes hanging out with these characters easier. The watch face has a greater quality and bigger display, so characters appear more vividly.

Q6. How do your designs represent Samsung’s personalization?

Samsung’s personalisation is wonderfully reflected in these designs. Users can pick among characters that suit music, sports, and natural interests. Along with many other Galaxy Watch6 watch faces, these characters let customers select one that matches their personality. we think more consumers can customise their wearable experiences with these watch faces. Galaxy Z Flip5 users can encounter these characters. Matching watch face designs with the Galaxy Z Flip5’s Flex Window creates a more unified, personalised look.

Q7. What does this Samsung cooperation mean to you? Your next steps?

wearable and interactive stuff. Seeing so many wristbands with my design is amazing! characters to let others express themselves, and our partnership did that. As customers adopt the Galaxy Watch6 series into their daily routines, it’s rewarding to think that my designs may add a layer of enjoyment to their healthier behaviours or better sleep cycles.

objective for the future is to create art that makes people smile and promotes joy. we want to develop engaging, entertaining environments in my upcoming ventures. we enjoyed our partnership and want to work with Samsung again!
