At MWC Las Vegas, 5G becomes a reality.
We won’t only be talking about 5G at this year’s MWC Americas; we’ll also have a fully functional, isolated 5G private network at our booth.
At the MWC in Las Vegas this year, we won’t only talk about 5G. We’ll bring a fully functional, stand-alone 5G private network to the event. It is a result of a partnership between Dell Technologies, Airspan Networks, DISH Wireless, and Druid Software to demonstrate how secure 5G connection can be delivered anywhere, fast, and efficiently using pre validated, pre integrated private wireless solutions.
Several use cases, including video surveillance, real-time video streaming, remote collaboration, and more, will be shown in the live demo. It will contain a variety of 5G capable phones, software programmes, and video cameras. Each business is contributing something special to the event: Dell is providing the hardware infrastructure and installation know-how, Airspan is providing the radio and RAN software, DISH is providing licenced spectrum, and Druid is adding Raemis, the 5G core platform, to tie everything together.
It’s an excellent illustration of how a group of best-in-class businesses can combine their open, standards-based private wireless technologies to present a pre-validated solution that addresses clients’ business concerns.
Small Form Factor, Scalability, and Simplicity
Private 5G wireless networks offer a number of useful applications. They can provide 5G connection in retail establishments or outlying locations. They can allow autonomous cars or automated industrial floors. In cities, they may offer security and monitoring. Even more complicated use cases will need to be answered as the ecosystem and technology continue to develop.
However, as communications service providers (CSPs) and businesses are finding out, building private wireless may be difficult and expensive if you have to handle all of the validation and integration work yourself.
And here’s where Dell, Airspan, DISH, and Druid are significantly differentiating themselves.
We have developed a mission-critical application reliable end to end private wireless solution in a tiny form factor that is scalable to grow from one to 1000 radio units (RUs). The private wireless solution’s scalability, throughput, and capacity to manage many use cases concurrently will be shown at MWC Las Vegas.
Innovative Private Wireless
This private 5G network solution is powered by a best-of-breed combination of components from top 5G innovators in the market, including hardware, software, and services. The Raemi 5G core platform from Druid Software, which authenticates and maintains all the 5G devices, is at the heart of everything. It offers the 5G functionality and application integration that businesses require to manage and tailor their 5G network for certain use cases. More than 36 distinct 5G RAN and virtualized RAN (vRAN) manufacturers, including Airspan Networks, are interoperable with Raemis.
To deliver light-weight, potent 5G communications for interior use cases, the Airspan AirVelocity 1901 RAN system has been completely integrated and proven with Druid Software over 5G installations globally. The distributed, centralised, and radio units (DU/CU/RU) are all combined in the AirVelocity 1901, a small device that may be put on walls or ceilings.
Priority access licenced (PAL) CBRS radio N48 band spectrum will be made available by DISH Wireless for 5G communications.
When paired with DISH’s built-in network security and stability, PAL connection delivers high priority for CBRS communications, ensuring that the private wireless solution satisfies the needs of business-critical applications.
The entire system is installed on the Dell PowerEdge XR400, a specially designed infrastructure. For highly scalable use cases, the solution is also pre-validated and accessible on the hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platforms VxRail or Microsoft Azure.
Private Wireless Deployments Made Simple
In comparison to other networking technologies like Wi-Fi, the deployment of private wireless is in fact more difficult. We want to close this gap and simplify some of these issues. By completing the challenging tasks of integration, validation, and even some configuration prior to shipping the solution, a large portion of the complexity may be resolved before deploying a single server.
The private wireless solution we will present at MWC Las Vegas demonstrates that a secure private wireless network can be set up and scaled up (or taken down) practically anyplace, even in a crowded location with limited time and space.
