AWS is introducing the integration of Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) with AWS Amplify Hosting. Static websites that contain material stored in your S3 buckets may now be deployed with a few clicks and served over a content delivery network (CDN).

Various facets of website deployment are handled by AWS Amplify Hosting, a fully managed static site hosting solution. You can take use of features like custom domain setup with SSL, redirection, custom headers, and deployment on a globally accessible CDN provided by Amazon CloudFront.

Amplify retains the connection between your S3 bucket and the deployed website when you publish a static website, so you can simply update your website with a single click whenever you make changes to the content in your S3 bucket. It is advised to utilize AWS Amplify Hosting for hosting static websites since it provides faster and more efficient deployment without requiring a lot of setup.

The integration process begins with the Amazon S3 console and goes like this:

Using Amazon S3 console to deploy a static website

Together, you can run a personal website from your S3 bucket using this new integration.

Open the Amazon S3 console and click your bucket to begin. The list of all the contents in that S3 bucket is as follows:

You can select Create Amplify app after navigating to the Properties panel and scrolling down to Static website hosting to utilize the new integration with AWS Amplify Hosting.

The information is then filled in from your S3 bucket and you can redirected to the Amplify page. The Branch name and your App name are configured here. You Save and Deploy next.

AWS Amplify has launched your static website in a matter of seconds, and by choosing the Visit deployed URL, you can access the website. If you want to make any modifications to your S3 bucket for your static website, you will have to choose the Deploy updates button in the Amplify interface to redeploy your application.

The AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI) is another tool you can utilize for programmatic deployment. You must retrieve the necessary parameter values from your AWS Amplify dashboard, including APP_ID and BRANCH_NAME, to accomplish that.

Upon receiving a URL from Amplify Hosting, you have the opportunity to set up a custom domain for your static website. In AWS Amplify, you go to my apps and choose Custom domains from the navigation pane to accomplish that. Next, to begin setting up a custom domain for a static website, you choose Add domain.

You have a custom domain set up on a static website. Additionally, Amplify provides an SSL/TLS certificate for your domain, ensuring that all HTTPS communication is secure.
