AMD is set to introduce an intriguing new CPU, the Ryzen 5 7500F. Although not officially announced yet, details about this chip have surfaced through listings. The Ryzen 5 7500F is expected to feature 6 cores and 12 threads, with a slightly lower clock speed compared to the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 at 5.0 GHz (boost). Testing was conducted on an ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F Gaming WIFI motherboard using BIOS version 1303, coupled with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card.
One notable aspect of this chip is the “F” variant designation, which is a departure from what we have seen on AMD CPUs thus far. Typically, “F” chips in the Intel lineup lack integrated graphics capabilities, and it remains to be seen if this holds true for the Ryzen 5 7500F. While AMD’s Ryzen 7000 CPUs are known to feature an RDNA 2 iGPU with 2 compute units, namely the Radeon 710M, the Ryzen 5 7500F reportedly does not include an iGPU, similar to Intel’s “F” chips.
The SKU positioning of the Ryzen 5 7500F is also interesting, as AMD appears to be expanding its lineup to provide more options for consumers. This CPU is expected to be positioned below the Ryzen 5 7600, and early indications suggest that it will likely be priced below the $200 range, offering a competitive alternative to Intel’s Core i5-13400 and Core i5-13500 CPUs. According to information from a Korean retailer, the Ryzen 5 7500F is estimated to be around $10-15 USD cheaper than the Ryzen 5 7600.
Currently, the Ryzen 5 7600 (Non-X) is priced in the range of $220-$230 US, and with the Ryzen 5 7500F, AMD aims to address the sub-$200 US market on AM5, providing increased competition against Intel’s offerings.

While AMD recently introduced the Ryzen 5 5600X3D, which will be available close to the $200 US mark, it is worth noting that this chip will be exclusively sold in the US by Microcenter. In contrast, the Ryzen 5 7500F, if priced competitively, has the potential to become a highly popular CPU. Furthermore, we can anticipate a Starfield bundle to be available for this chip, adding to its appeal.
Overall, the AMD Ryzen 5 7500F brings excitement to AMD’s CPU lineup, offering consumers a compelling choice in the sub-$200 price range. As AMD expands its options, this chip’s performance and pricing will undoubtedly play a significant role in its popularity among users.
