Zephyrus G14 and G16 start with aluminum luxury

The 2024 Zephyrus G14 and G16’s CNC-machined chassis allowed us to redesign the keyboard deck to an edge-to-edge design with a larger trackpad, keycaps, and speakers. This allowed us to make the speakers louder and have better bass response down to 100Hz for more immersive audio. An upsized 16:10 glass-topped trackpad matches the laptop’s displays’ aspect ratio for precise movement and easy scrolling. ASUS kept the keyboard large with 1.7mm key spacing for comfortable typing thanks to this precise CNC milling process. Many compact laptops squeeze their keys together. Despite the laptops’ ultra-compact chassis, the key travel is 1.7mm deep, providing a premium typing experience.

ASUS knew these premium laptops would work well with their Zephyrus machines because aluminum alloy is light, rigid, and luxurious after anodization. Platinum White, a new colorway this year, gives the G14 and G16 a metallic sheen. ASUS spent two years developing a premium, matte metallic finish with hundreds of tests on many combinations. It enhances the clean, beautiful Moonlight White design with a perfect metallic luster.

Zephyrus get the new Slash Lighting array with these machines. This LED array makes a bold slash across the lid of the machines and comes with custom animations and the ability to create your own, giving them a unique look that sets them apart from other laptops.

The G14 and G16 are true Zephyrus laptops thin and light but powerful. At 1.59cm thick and 1.5kg, the Zephyrus G14 fits in small bags and won’t weigh you down when traveling. The G16 has a two-inch larger display than the G14, but it’s slimmer at 1.49cm and weighs 1.85kg, giving you space for creative work on the go.

Premium machines deserve premium displays. OLED monitors have been popular on desktops for years, but ASUS were excited to introduce their first gaming laptop with a Nebula Display and OLED panel. OLED’s pixel-perfect black levels make games and other content pop off the screen with incredible contrast and color. The first OLED gaming laptops with NVIDIA G-SYNC are also available after years of research and development with NVIDIA and Samsung Display.

The Zephyrus G14 and G16 have 3K 120Hz and 2.5K 240Hz panels, respectively, for optimal visual and motion clarity. Both models have 16:10 aspect ratios, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratios. OLED pixels produce true inky blacks, making HDR content and games shine. These gaming panels offer 100% coverage of the cinema-grade DCI-P3 color space and are calibrated to achieve an average ΔE an of less than 1, making them suitable for content creators who require accurate color. The fast 0.2ms gray-to-gray response time eliminates ghosting and gives gamers the cleanest image with every screen refresh.

Premium performance in a small package

Gaming, creating, and multitasking are easy with the Zephyrus G14’s AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor, 32GB of LPDDR5X-6400 memory, and 1TB of PCIe Gen4 storage. The G14 has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU with a max TGP of 90W and DLSS 3.5, Frame Generation, and Ray Reconstruction for immersive game graphics. The latest hardware means the latest features, including hardware-accelerated AI in 2024: AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS supports Windows Studio Effects and 16 TOPS of AI performance. This prepares the Zephyrus G14 for future productivity with automatic framing, eye contact correction, and advanced video call background effects. 

With dedicated AI support for Omniverse and Stable diffusion, NVIDIA’s latest GPUs can skip cloud queues and generate images locally in seconds. AI acceleration speeds up traditional video editing and 3D rendering, sometimes by more than twice, while saving power for longer battery life.

In contrast, the Zephyrus G16 has an Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 185H, 32GB of LPDDR5X-7467 memory, and 2TB of PCIe Gen4 storage. The flagship NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU powers the G16’s performance in the latest games and creative apps, AI-powered and otherwise. 

Stay calm in every situation

The Zephyrus Laptops G14 and G16 have the latest Intelligent Cooling technologies to stay competitive in a world of smaller, thinner, lighter laptops with flagship hardware. Both machines have new 2nd Generation Arc Flow Fans and high-performance liquid metal CPUs. Redesigned fans with small bends at each of the 84 primary blades reduce power consumption and turbulence. With a dual-impeller design, a smaller set of 42 fan blades inside the primary set draws in more air with each rotation, like a jet turbine. ASUS use cutting-edge cooling to match these slim designs with enthusiast-grade gaming hardware.

Besides these new Arc Flow Fans, the G14 and G16 have tri-fan designs. A smaller auxiliary fan helps the main Arc Flow Fans reduce machine surface component temperatures and route GPU heat to heatsinks. Redesigned heat pipes with fiber and mesh compositions increase efficiency by 23% over the previous generation. To cool the Zephyrus Laptops G16 models with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 and 4090 Laptop GPUs, ASUS added a custom vapor chamber with dual fans.
