Micron introduces high-end 1β architecture for 16 GB DDR5-7200 MT/s memory

Micron Technology made the news that it has extended its industry-leading 1 (1 beta) production node technology by releasing 16 GB of DDR5 memory

The 1 GB DDR5 DRAM manufactured by Micron can function in systems at speeds of up to 7,200 MT/s, and it is presently available for purchase by clients of data centres as well as personal PCs

As the number of CPU cores increases, there is a correspondingly greater need for significantly increased memory bandwidth and capacities

Applications such as artificial intelligence (AI) training and inference, generative AI, data analytics, and in-memory databases (IMDB) are made possible by the 1x DDR5 DRAM’s ability to allow faster growth in computing capabilities

The current module densities may be met by the new 1 DDR5 DRAM product line, which offers speeds ranging from 4,800 MT/s all the way up to 7,200 MT/s

These solutions consist of DDR5 RDIMMs and MCRDIMMs that employ 16Gb, 24Gb, and 32Gb DRAM die, LPDDR5X that uses 16Gb and 24Gb DRAM die, HBM3E, and GDDR7 memory modules respectively

Direct sales and channel partners will both be able to give access to the newly launched Micron 16Gb DDR5 memory products
