The Galaxy Z Flip 6 with a 50-megapixel primary sensor

It has been reported that Samsung is testing the Galaxy Z Flip 6 with a 50-megapixel main sensor

Even though it has been less than a week since the Galaxy Z Flip 5 became available for purchase, it seems that Samsung is already hard at work on the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The phone is still in the prototype stage, but based on the information that has been obtained, Samsung is aiming to address the problem that has been the most problematic with previous clamshell folding phones, which is the main camera.

It has been a long time coming, but the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will finally be receiving a camera update. The Z Fold 6 may also receive an update.

For the benefit of those who are unaware, Samsung has been taking precautions when it comes to the cameras on its foldable phones, and the clamshell form is often the topic of criticism for having a mediocre camera. Although I am not implying that it is of poor quality, for a phone that costs one thousand dollars, you would think that it would have some impressive features. That has not changed; however, the source indicates that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 prototype that Samsung has produced has a 50-megapixel camera, and my estimate is that this is likely the sensor that will be found in the basic form of the Galaxy S24 that will be released in the following year. This is not anything that has changed.

Now, of course, none of this has been verified in any way, but it does make logic when seen from a variety of angles. For example, Samsung has been using the exact same camera mechanism for all of the Galaxy Z Flip models. Therefore, it stands to reason that the photography capabilities of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will undergo significant development in preparation for its release. After all, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has been upgraded with a new cover display as part of the latest software update.

We will make sure to keep you updated with any new information as it becomes available, but we won’t be able to confirm anything until the end of this year or early next year, following the debut of the Galaxy S24. If Samsung follows through with this plan, you can also anticipate some improvements to the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s optical capabilities. Naturally, Samsung would not want to fall behind in the foldable crown race with their product.
