SK Enmove Partners with SK Telecom and Giga Computing

Signing an MOU to Advance AI Data Centres and IT Cooling Technology, Giga Computing, SK Telecom, and SK Enmove

In an effort to accelerate the adoption of liquid cooling technology in next-generation data centres, Giga Computing, a subsidiary of GIGABYTE Technology, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SK Telecom and SK Enmove to work together on developing AI Data Centre (AIDC) and high-performance computing (HPC).

The groundwork for the development of high-performance, energy-efficient, and sustainable data centre solutions is laid by this strategic alliance.

Technology Innovation in AI and Cooling Modular AI clusters, liquid cooling technologies, and performance AI servers work together to support SK’s several business areas, which include:

  • SK Telecom: bolstering AIDC infrastructure to facilitate data centres of the future
  • Enhancing data centre sustainability and energy efficiency through the development of liquid cooling technologies is SK Enmove.

Direct liquid cooling (DLC), precision liquid cooling, and immersion cooling technologies will be developed and validated by the firms in collaboration to minimise energy usage in high-density AI computing while maintaining optimal thermal performance for servers.

Giga Computing’s Innovation Makes AIDCs Stronger

For SK Telecom and SK Enmove, Giga Computing will collaborate on optimised AI platforms by utilising its knowledge of high-performance computing and liquid cooling technologies, with an emphasis on:

  • Servers and Infrastructure: AI, HPC, and cloud computing-specific high-performance computing servers
  • Using immersion and cold plate-based DLC cooling technologies to enhance data centres is known as liquid cooling technology. Improvement of energy efficiency and power usage effectiveness (PUE)
  • AIDC Optimisation: Using GIGAPOD to improve the dependability of the infrastructure and AI computing performance

“They are proud to work with SK Group to advance AIDC transformation with GIGABYTE’s liquid cooling technology and high-performance servers,” Giga Computing general manager Daniel Hou stated. “By working together, it can develop green data centres and build a more sustainable, effective computing culture.”

SK Telecom’s head of the AI R&D Centre, Yang Seung-hyun, stated, ” it collaboration will expedite the development of liquid cooling solutions, a crucial next-generation technology for AIDCs.” By working with top corporations worldwide, “SK Telecom is dedicated to becoming a global leader in AIDC operations with unique capabilities.”

“As a market leader in cooling fluids, SK Enmove will use this partnership to propel the liquid cooling market’s expansion with optimised cooling fluids that can optimise data centre energy efficiency and further solidify the position as a leader in energy efficiency,” stated Kim Daejung, who leads SK Enmove’s Green Business Unit.

Advancing a More Intelligent and Sustainable Future

Giga Computing and SK Group have established a close partnership in AIDC innovation, liquid cooling technology development, and cloud computing optimisation with the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding. Together, they will pave the path for data centres to have a more intelligent, sustainable, and efficient future.
