SAP Applications are hosted on Google Cloud

SAP Applications has chosen AMD EPYC processor-powered Google Cloud N2D virtual machines (VMs) to manage its cloud ERP delivery operations for RISE with SAP, extending AMD EPYC usage for cloud-based workloads. As businesses strive for digital transformation, many are implementing cloud-first architectures to supplement their on-premises data centres. AMD, Google Cloud, and SAP can assist customers in meeting their most severe performance objectives while also delivering on energy efficiency, scalability, and resource utilisation requirements.

For business applications in the cloud, AMD EPYC processors provide outstanding performance, strong security features, and energy-efficient solutions. When combined with AMD EPYC processors and Google Cloud N2D VMs, RISE with SAP helps customers make the most of their investments in cloud infrastructure. It also strives to modernise client data centres and turn data into useful insights more quickly.

AMD powers some of the most performant and energy-efficient cloud instances available in the world today,” said Dan McNamara, senior vice president and general manager of AMD’s Server Business Unit. SAP has chosen AMD EPYC CPU-powered N2D instances to run its Business Suite business software workloads as part of our partnership with Google Cloud and SAP. Through accelerating the time to value for its corporate applications, SAP is delivering to clients looking to modernise their data centres and simplify IT expenditure on the performance and performance-per-dollar of EPYC processors.

In order to handle mission-critical workloads for our business cloud clients, we have strategically decided to introduce AMD EPYC processor-powered N2D instances to Google Cloud as part of our RISE with SAP effort. remarked Lalit Patil, CTO of SAP SE’s Enterprise Cloud Services. Over comparable instances, our engineering collaboration with AMD and Google Cloud can increase performance and performance per dollar.

Our partnership with AMD and SAP provides a scalable and performant solution for our joint clients looking to shift their workloads to the cloud, according to Mark Lohmeyer, vice president and general manager of Compute at Google Cloud. We can offer a competitive price performance for SAP Business Suite workloads thanks to Google Cloud N2D VMs powered on AMD EPYC CPUs.
