Participating startups will gain direct access to Google Cloud’s cloud computing, sandbox services, and Artificial Intelligence expertise through this partnership. AI-first firms will be able to quickly prototype, scale more quickly, and save money with Google Cloud’s full-stack AI, data, and security sandbox environment.

The AI-optimized sandbox will include the following capabilities

  • AI
    • Automated environment provisioning and administration for sectors like as public sector, healthcare, energy, and transportation. These environments will give users access to fully managed services including Healthcare Data Engine, Google Earth Engine, and Google Maps, as well as links to Google Cloud’s unique data sets like AlphaFold.
    • AI-powered accelerators for analytics, information retrieval, and machine learning training, such as Graphical Process Units (GPUs) and Google Cloud’s specially designed Arm-based processors (Axion) and Tensor Processing Units (TPUs).
    • Google Vertex AI Platform offers a multi-agentic AI framework and a single development platform that contains 160+ first-party (Gemini, Imagen 3) and third-party (Gemma) foundation models in addition to Agent Builder.
  • Analytics & Data
    • Apigee has modernised API management, enabling the development, administration, and security of APIs for any scale, use case, or environment.
    • Looker allows for real-time exploration and sharing of business and embedded analytics, while BigQuery provides access to hundreds of public datasets from many industries.
  • Safety
    • Google Security Command Centre, the first multi-cloud security solution in the industry, offers Sensitive Data Protection and Model Armour to shield LLM models and data sources against jailbreak attempts, rapid injections, and unauthorised exposure.
In order to maximise their AI literacy and industry uptake, Google Public Sector will also offer specialised training to Rice AI Venture Accelerator startups and supporting teams.

It is excited to announce the launch of the Rice AI Venture Accelerator in partnership with Google Public Sector. Its goal is to turn innovative research into practical applications, and partnership builds on Rice’s decades-long tradition of innovation.
