Qualcomm Embedded World
New use cases that capitalize on increased intelligence on the edge are proliferating in the embedded community as a result of the AI revolution. The initiative to make these concepts a reality is being spearheaded by Qualcomm Technologies.
Qualcomm Embedded World, one of the biggest conferences for embedded system developers, specialists, project and product managers, system architects, and industry experts, will showcase embedded systems technologies that benefit a wide range of industries, including the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, and healthcare.
Qualcomm showing off new developer kits at the conference, and professionals will be there to provide tips and direction on how to get the most out of Qualcomm technology. Naturally, there will be enormous wall of boards, which will showcase more than 90 modules, many of which are from different ecosystem partners, as well as several demonstrations from these partners.
Ahead of Embedded World, It also revealed that had reached a deal to buy Edge Impulse, a top end-to-end edge AI platform that makes it simple for developers to create, implement, and track AI models across a variety of devices, including Qualcomm Dragonwing processors.
These actions demonstrate Qualcomm dedication to implementing intelligent computing globally. Making sure the developer community has access to offerings which range from fast connection to potent processing and AI edge capabilities is a crucial part of that aim. More than 50 of partners will be showcasing the solutions that capitalize on breakthroughs at Embedded World.
Last year’s convention in Nuremberg, Germany, attracted 1,100 exhibitors and 32,000 attendees.
Expanding AI tech portfolio for IoT
Making sure it have the appropriate resources and assistance on hand is a crucial aspect of being a respected and trusted partner for the embedded community.
For this reason, it made the announcement today that have entered into an agreement to purchase Edge Impulse. Customary closing circumstances apply when the Edge Impulse acquisition closes.
More than 170,000 developers use Edge Impulse to create, implement, and track AI models across a range of devices. With a simple, user-friendly interface that requires little to no code, this development platform offers an extensive suite of tools and capabilities for data collection, data preparation, model training, model deployment, and model monitoring.
With its better on-device AI inferencing, computer vision, graphics, and computing capabilities, Qualcomm Technologies hopes to enable developers on Edge Impulse’s platform to target Qualcomm Dragonwing processors.
Hands-on with new developer kits
At the exhibit, the Qualcomm QCC74xM Evaluation Kit (EVK) and Qualcomm QCC730M EVK will demonstrate the modules’ functionality and performance. These modules support Bluetooth, Matter, programmable RISC-V, and micro-power Wi-Fi. They are therefore incredibly flexible and have a long battery life, making them perfect for any embedded system.
Additionally, Qualcomm Technologies is bringing back the board wall display, which will come with development kits and 98 different third-party modules. Developers and system architects have a plethora of alternatives for experimenting and commercializing innovative embedded solutions thanks to the large assortment of components on show.
Making use of technology
In addition to hardware, Qualcomm stand will have over a dozen technological demonstrations, with a number of ecosystem partners taking center stage.
In a preview of the retail industry of the future, Sunmi, iterate.ai, and AuthSignal will showcase a multi-operating system self-checkout solution with biometric payment on one side of the booth. This solution will also include a generative AI assistant for troubleshooting. On the far end of the booth, Promwad’s AI-powered service robot will be delivering packages while navigating and interacting with guests. Sigma Connectivity has a dual camera setup that uses state-of-the-art machine learning to seamlessly translate American Sign Language (ASL) gestures into closed-caption text in real time.
The flagship dynamic 3D tabletop experience, which showcases industrial IoT solutions including asset inspection, worker safety, incident response, and worker assistance, is the focal point of demos.
