NVIDIA RTX 5060
Nvidia released the GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card for desktops and laptops today. The initial price of the RTX 5060 desktop version is $299. As a result, the new NVIDIA RTX 5060 is the most economical option to get the newest graphics technology from Nvidia.
Nvidia claims that the RTX 5060 is made to let players to enjoy their favourite games, frequently at a maximum frame rate of over 100. The 5060 is a “very substantial upgrade for gamers everywhere” and that the “60 Series has always been our most popular GPUs in the GeForce lineup”.
The RTX 5060’s primary features include 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM and 3,840 CUDA cores. Notably, this GPU will not come with a 16GB VRAM variant as the NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti does. Like the earlier RTX 4060, it has a 128-bit memory interface, although the faster GDDR7 memory lessens the performance effect of the narrower interface. A performance gain is anticipated from the RTX 5060’s larger core count (3,840) in comparison to the RTX 4060 (3,072).
Performance figures for the NVIDIA RTX 5060 running several games with the help of maximum DLSS 4 Multi-frame Generation have been supplied by Nvidia. At 1080p Ultra, performance promises include:
Game | Frames Per Second (fps) |
---|---|
Cyberpunk 2077 | 148 |
Black Myth Wukong | 130 |
Hogwarts Legacy | 234 |
Doom: Dark Ages | 223 |
Ghost of Tsushima | 215 |
According to Nvidia, all mentioned games can run at above 100 frames per second on the RTX 5060 with DLSS 4. To increase frame rates, DLSS 4 is said to use multi-frame generation technology, which uses the GPU’s Tensor cores to analyze and produce up to three additional frames for every one that was initially displayed. Nvidia views DLSS 4, which is already included in more than 125 games and apps, as its fastest-growing video gaming technology. Although DLSS may greatly improve performance, especially for players on a tight budget, it can also cause problems with image quality and increase latency. If a respectable frame rate can be achieved without it, it is usually advised to disable it.
The NVIDIA RTX 5060 provides sophisticated capabilities like Ray Tracing and Path Tracing in addition to conventional rendering. Beginning in June, Nvidia plans to update Doom: The Dark Ages to incorporate both route tracing and DLSS. Path tracing makes it possible to simulate lighting more accurately, which results in enhancements like improved reflections. The FPS in Doom: The Dark Ages is predicted to rise seven times when DLSS 4 4K Path tracing is enabled.
With more than 100 RTX Remix modifications now available and 350 more in development, Nvidia’s RTX Remix technology also makes use of these features to recreate vintage games. DLSS 4 and Nvidia’s RTX Neural Radiance Cache technology will be used in a future version of the Portal RTX patch. ModDB is hosting a Mod Contest with $50,000 in prizes.

Starting today, new laptops with NVIDIA RTX 5060 processors are now available for individuals who choose mobility. Almost all computer manufacturers will sell these laptops, with beginning costs of at least $1,099 recommended. Blackwell Max-Q and DLSS 4 technology will be used in some versions, enabling designs as thin as 14.9 mm thick. The target graphics power (TGP) for the RTX 5060 mobile variant ranges from 45 to 100 watts. It is anticipated that several of these laptops will shortly be on show at Computex 2025.
Although Nvidia anticipates a healthy supply of the 5060 chips, supply and demand will ultimately determine actual availability. Graphics cards from the RTX 50 series have sold out quickly following release in the past. Independent, laboratory-tested evaluations are not accessible on the first day of its launch. A last-minute day-one performance driver update release prevented them from testing the NVIDIA RTX 5060. Customers are put in a “catch-22” since they risk missing the first supply if they wait for reviews before making a purchase. Until independent testing can confirm Nvidia’s performance claims, which mostly rely on DLSS 4 findings, they should be viewed with considerable scepticism.
