Additionally, we observe improved communication between our platform engineering team and product engineering team.
In order to manage its databases, Gruppo Maggioli implemented Cloud SQL. Additionally, the teams at the company use Filestore as a fully managed, low-latency NFS solution for their GKE-based apps. The IT team uses Google Cloud Marketplace to make purchases as its needs for additional Google Cloud products change, saving time in procurement and gaining the simplicity and visibility of unified billing.

By using ML-based capabilities that were trained on its applications to offer adaptive protection against assaults on applications and websites, Gruppo Maggioli adopted Cloud Armor to strengthen its security posture. For threat detection, investigation, and response, the IT team is also trialing the use of Security Command Center and Chronicle Security Operations.
Given the GDPR obligations and extra local privacy rules across Europe, data governance played a significant role in Gruppo Maggioli’s decision to use Google Cloud. With 11 European regions and more than 30 edge Points of Presence (POPs) spread across Europe, Google Cloud’s extensive global meshed network of data centers fulfills regulatory needs that demand data residency while offering quick performance.
“Google Cloud’s POPs in Rome, Milan, and now Turin help us simultaneously deliver great experiences for our clients across Italy and address their data governance concerns,” Cucchi stated.
According to Cucchi, Google Cloud enables Gruppo Maggioli to meet growing client demand for hybrid cloud solutions. The usage of Anthos to manage GKE clusters and workloads that are running on Google Cloud, in-house, or in other public clouds is being investigated by his team.
