Immersion GPU Servers

An statement was made today by Giga Computing, which is a subsidiary of GIGABYTE and a leader in the field of high-performance servers, server motherboards, and workstations. The company made this announcement in preparation for exhibiting new OCP ORv3 based solutions at the OCP Global Summit. Among these solutions are ones that are designed specifically for workloads that are GPU-centric and need for immersion cooling.

The newly released GIGABYTE products include a 2OU node tray with the model number TO25-BT0, as well as compute nodes with the model numbers TO25-S10, TO25-S11, and TO25-S12, in addition to TO25-Z10, TO25-Z11, and TO25-Z12. New TO15-S40, TO15-S41, and TO15-Z40 GPU servers are designed to satisfy the requirements of immersion cooling server deployments with ORv3 criteria. These servers are designed to fulfill the requirements of immersion cooling server deployments.

Our commitment to supporting the designs developed by the Open Compute Project dates back almost a decade, when we first released our OCP v1.0 products. Currently, we are providing some ORv3 products that are both well-designed and in great demand, so keep an eye out for those. After speaking with a number of customers, we came to the realization that it would be in their best interest for us to continue developing these configurations.

This led us to the conclusion that we should continue developing these configurations. “These designs meet all of the prerequisite requirements for the specifications,” stated Vincent Wang, who serves as the vice president of sales at Giga Computing. We will be introducing additional goods in the first quarter of 2024, in addition to providing support for the ORv3 criteria.

The Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit is a community gathering of individuals, technologies, and products that encourages advancements in the hardware associated with information technology. The dates of the event are October 17-19, and it will be held in the San Jose Convention Center. An OCP principle that supports a community-based approach to problem resolution is that the solution should be effective, open, scalable, and sustainable.

Data Center with Immersion GPU Servers

This tenet was developed by the Open Compute Project. As a result of this, GIGABYTE has made the decision to lend support to their project and take part in the Global Summit by taking part in it by setting up a booth there.

In accordance with the vision offered by these tenets, the GIGABYTE stand (number A23) will demonstrate our immersion cooling tanks and servers. These tanks and computers have the potential to greatly reduce the total energy consumption as well as the expenses incurred by the data center while simultaneously boosting the performance and dependability of the facility. For the sake of this get-together, we made the decision to combine our 2U, four-node server, H263-S64-IAW1, which is able to support eight Intel Xeon processors.

With our soon-to-be-released compact 12U immersion tank, A1P0-EA0. Together, these two pieces of equipment can support a total of sixteen Intel Xeon processors. In addition, GIGABYTE owns an 18OU immersion tank with the model number A1O3-CC0; nonetheless, this tank was not present at the event.

Immersion GPU Technology

The tank may be identified by its abbreviation, “OU.” GIGABYTE offers a comprehensive solution for deploying single phase immersion cooling, from tanks to immersion-ready servers, immersion fluid, equipment, and technical expertise. This solution can be found here. The tank is the starting point for the solution.

In addition, the GIGABYTE booth features a demo unit of the OCP ORv3 rack that allows visitors to see our products and services in action. It begins with the fresh new OCP tray, which has the product number TO25-BT0 and carries a processing node for both the AMD EPYC platform (TO25-Z11) and the Intel Xeon platform (TO25-S12). Both of these platforms are manufactured by Intel. And for those who are more concerned with storage, we have our ORv3 JBOD server, which has the capability of housing up to 32 disks within a chassis that only requires 2 rack units of space.
