NVIDIA announce today that DLSS Multi Frame Generation and additional DLSS technologies will be included in the launch of Half-Life 2 RTX, Lost Soul Aside, Mecha BREAK, Phantom Blade Zero, Stellar Blade, Tides of Annihilation, and Wild Assault, providing GeForce RTX gamers with the best PC experience possible.

Half-Life 2 RTX Demo Available March 18th with DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation & RTX Neural Rendering.

Nvidia released NVIDIA RTX Remix in beta a year ago, giving the modding community a revolutionary tool to modernize vintage games’ looks while keeping their unique gameplay. Since the initial RTX Remix release, over 30,000 modders have tried hundreds of old games, and over 1 million gamers have played them.

Today, one can released RTX Remix, exiting beta with DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, cutting-edge RTX Neural Rendering technologies, and many community-requested changes to help modders improve their remasters, image quality, and performance.

Half-Life 2 owners can download a free RTX demo from Steam on March 18th to test RTX Remix before the full game’s release.

Orbifold Studios’ community-made Half-Life 2 RTX remasters Valve’s masterpiece. To remaster Half-Life 2, Orbifold is upgrading every texture, model, and environment, adding geometric detail to structures and surfaces for realistic ray-traced lighting. Half-Life 2 RTX is getting new particles and animations to match contemporary graphics.

The entire game has been relit with cutting-edge lighting from RTX Remix to preserve Half-Life 2’s tone and feel while making restored assets seem realistic in completely ray-traced surroundings. Orbifold is rebuilding Half-Life 2’s graphics without changing its gameplay.

Artists remake textures with height maps and physically-based materials, models from scratch, levels in the Hammer editor, and everything is imported back into RTX Remix to be lit, enhanced by NVIDIA RTX technology, and packaged as a standalone game that Half-Life 2 owners can download for free on Steam.

Download the Half-Life 2 RTX demo, comprising Ravenholm and Nova Prospekt levels, on March 18 to see the team’s work. Though not finished, every level has been updated, and further modifications and tech upgrades are planned for launch. Remade weapons, enemies, skyboxes, atmospheric effects, visual effects, and audio.

All previously described technologies are covered. At 4K, DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation increases frame rates by 10X. A novel transformer AI model improves DLSS Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction. Neural Radiance Cache boosts ray-traced lighting. Father Grigori, headcrabs, and zombies benefit from RTX Skin. Smoke and fog are realistic using RTX Volumetrics. Everything interacts with fully ray-traced lighting.

Combat Cat Studio’s Wild Assault is a 20 vs. 20 third-person, Unreal Engine 5-powered, class-based PvP multiplayer shooter with anthropomorphic characters with animal-themed powers.
