Generative diffusion models
Using generative diffusion models, MediaTek Research has created a novel approach to wireless channel modeling and sampling that has received much praise. The aforementioned model makes use of the notion of denoising diffusion models in conjunction with a series of invertible transformations in order to synthesize channel realizations from a constrained amount of data.
When compared to GAN-based techniques that already exist, the diffusion model provides more stable training and generates samples that are diverse and high-fidelity from the actual channel distribution. The research also shows that transfer learning is possible and highlights the possibility of a diffusion-based technique to mimic real-world channels despite having a limited amount of data.
