Discover Dell PowerStore’s New Efficiency Upgrades

What is Dell Powerstore

The latest developments in Dell PowerStore, which improve performance, efficiency, resilience, and multicloud data mobility, are revealed by Dell Technologies. Together with improved multicloud and Kubernetes storage management and new AIOps innovations, Dell also broadens its line of Dell APEX products.

Dell PowerStore improvement and new financial and operational benefits for clients and partners set the bar in all-flash storage’, said Arthur Lewis, president, Infrastructure Solutions Group, Dell Technologies. But Dell didn’t end there. The innovative spirit of Dell is also evident in Dell APEX, where the company is leveraging automation and artificial intelligence to enhance infrastructure and application stability while streamlining the management of multicloud and Kubernetes storage.

Boosting storage efficiency, resiliency, and multicloud

With the most versatile quad-level cell (QLC) storage in the market and notable performance improvements, Dell PowerStore assists in managing growing workload needs.

QLC-based storage

Compared to triple-level cell (TLC) architectures, it offers enterprise-class performance at a reduced cost per terabyte. Up to 5.9 petabytes of effective capacity can be scaled up per device by customers starting with as little as 11 QLC drives. The intelligent load balancing features of Dell PowerStore save expenses and enhance task distribution among mixed TLC and QLC clusters.

Enhanced performance

By upgrading new data-in-place higher model appliances, hardware performance can be improved by up to 66%.

Efficiency, security, and cloud mobility are all enhanced by Dell PowerStore software innovations.

Software-driven performance gain

Up to a 30% greater mixed workload performance improvement and up to 20% lower latency are delivered by non-disruptive software updates that are free for current customers.

More options for clients to protect important workloads with native synchronous replication for block and file workloads and native metro replication for Windows, Linux, and VMware environments translate into better data protection.

Enhanced Efficiency

Up to 20% greater data reduction and up to 28% more efficient gigabytes per watt are possible with software upgrades.

Enhancements to multicloud data mobility

By linking PowerStore to Dell APEX Block Storage for Public Cloud, the most scalable cloud block storage in the market, customers can optimise multicloud strategies and streamline workload mobility.

Improved data protection

Dell PowerStore is helping Fulgent Genetics transform patient care in pathology, oncology, reproductive health, infectious, and rare diseases by significantly accelerating data processing speed so Dell’s physicians can deliver faster genetic insights and test results to Dell patients, said Mike Lacenere, vice president, Applications. By using less energy and shrinking the size of Dell data centres, PowerStore strengthens Dell’s commitment to sustainability while also saving us a significant amount of money. With Dell PowerStore’s latest developments, Dell anticipates that its triple threat of performance, efficiency, and cost reductions will keep rising and benefit patient care.

These PowerStore innovations are a part of PowerStore Prime, a recently launched integrated offering that combines upgraded Dell PowerStore systems with initiatives meant to protect customers’ storage investments and boost Dell partner profitability.

Providing increased safety for storage investments

PowerStore Prime provides users with more options to maximise their investment in IT by providing:

Enabling partners to fulfil client expectations

Additionally, selling Dell PowerStore is made simpler and more lucrative with PowerStore Prime. Partners may now boost PowerStore sales with competitively priced product bundles and provide broader use cases for shared customers, building on Dell’s partner-first storage approach. While promoting PowerStore and PowerProtect offers jointly, partners can also expedite sales motions.

The new QLC array and PowerStore’s 5:1 Data Reduction Guarantee, according to World Wide Technology’s technical solutions architect John Lochausen, “are a testament of Dell’s unwavering commitment to meet customer efficiency goals while lowering the cost of advanced storage.” “Dell’s new partner guarantees and incentives pull everything together, enabling us to succeed with the newest developments in all-flash storage alongside Dell customers.”

Utilising AI to streamline IT management

To fulfil client demands in important priority areas like AI and multicloud, Dell Technologies is still developing its Dell APEX portfolio. Leading AIOps capabilities, enhanced storage, and better Kubernetes administration are all provided by Dell APEX advancements.

With AI-driven full stack observability and issue management, Dell APEX AIOps Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) maximises the health of the Dell infrastructure and service availability. It is a major upgrade to Dell’s AIOps products, offering three integrated features that simplify operations, increase IT agility, and give users more control over apps and infrastructure:

Infrastructure Observability: Uses AI-powered insights and recommendations to solve health, cybersecurity, and sustainability-related infrastructure issues up to 10X faster than using traditional methods. Dell APEX AIOps Assistant, driven by generative AI, offers thorough troubleshooting recommendations along with immediate answers to infrastructure-related queries.

With full stack application topologies and analytics for ensuring application availability and performance, application observability can result in a 70% reduction in the mean time to resolution of application issues.

Incident Management: Lowers customer-reported multivendor and multicloud infrastructure issues by up to 93% while optimising the availability of digital infrastructure with AI-driven incident identification and resolution.

Dell Apex navigator for Multicloud storage

Kubernetes storage management and further support for Dell APEX Storage for Public Cloud are added to Dell APEX Navigator SaaS offerings.

Dell APEX Navigator for Kubernetes simplifies storage management on Dell PowerFlex, Dell PowerScale, and Dell APEX Cloud Platform for Red Hat OpenShift by providing data replication, application mobility, and observability to containers.
