Denuvo Switch Emulation Protection Software Now on Nintendo Developer Portal
The announcement that their Switch Emulation Protection software is now accessible on the Nintendo Developer Portal (NDP) as legally licenced middleware came from Irdeto, the business that owns Denuvo and is the source of today’s news. Irdeto is also responsible for generating today’s news.
Irdeto is pleased to make the news that it was the very first security business to be given access to the Nintendo Developer Portal. This accomplishment has caused Irdeto to feel that it has achieved a significant milestone. In addition to this, the company promotes the Emulation Protection software that it has developed as a “revolutionary technology in the fight against piracy.”
Irdeto’s Chief Executive Officer, Doug Lowther, issued the following comment in a press release: Because we are gamers ourselves, we have personal experience with the negative effects that piracy has on the gaming business. We are pleased to have been granted access to the Nintendo Developers Portal. This will allow us to make the most cutting-edge technology available to Nintendo Switch users as well as developers, allowing them to collaborate on finding a solution to this problem. Our solution is an important necessity for publishers to have in order to monetize games fairly on this platform and to prevent any kind of damage coming to PC game sales in any manner. We feel that the reason why there is a growing need to safeguard against emulation on PC from the moment a game is started is due of our solution. This is something that we have seen.
The Nintendo Switch Emulation Protection software was made accessible to the general public for the very first time just a little under a year ago, practically to the day. Two days later, it was determined that Nintendo was not actively engaging in the project in any way, shape, or form. Because of this, a number of individuals started to get concerned that the project may be scrapped as a direct result of this development. The events of the current day provide evidence that demonstrates that the reverse is indeed the case. It is not yet known which game developers and publishers will decide to include Denuvo’s new technology into their creations; this is obviously something that cannot be predicted in advance.
Denuvo has just made an announcement that a protection solution for the Unreal Engine is now available for download. The use of this technology will make it harder to alter gameplay in video games. Despite Denuvo’s apparent attempt to repair its public image by implementing a planned review build comparison system, none of these comments are likely to be well welcomed by gamers. This is despite the fact that Denuvo is planning to adopt the programme.
