ASROCK AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Challenger Architecture

AMD’s latest RDNA 4 architecture boosts speed and efficiency for 1440p gaming on the ASROCK AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Challenger 16GB OC graphics card.

It runs on AMD RDNA 4 and AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT GPU. With the introduction of unified compute units that incorporate sophisticated ray tracing and AI accelerators, next-generation architecture improves rendering capabilities and overall performance.

The card has 16GB of GDDR6 memory that is connected to it over a 128-bit Memory Bus. The memory clock has a 20 Gbps speed.

It has two clocks: a game clock that runs at 2700 MHz and a boost clock that can reach 3290 MHz as well.

Processors and Compute Units: The GPU has 32 compute units, including RT (Raytracing) third-generation and AI accelerators from the second generation. Twenty-eight stream processors are also included.

ASROCK AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Challenger Essential Features and Technologies:

  • It is compatible with OpenGL 4.6 and Microsoft DirectX 12 Ultimate.
  • In particular, it uses the PCI Express 5.0 x16 bus specification to support PCI Express 5.0.
  • The next level of 1440p gaming performance is the specific focus of this lightning-fast gaming design.
  • Utilises AI-powered features and technologies ML-powered upscaling and next-generation raytracing using AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 provide powerful AI-enhanced visuals.
  • Worked with specific AMD products and supports AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) technology, which requires integration from game developers. Technical or warranty support for FSR on graphics cards from other vendors is not offered by AMD.
  • Featured on AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series GPUs and later is AMD HYPR-RX. Several AMD Software capabilities, including AMD Fluid Motion Frames, Radeon Super Resolution, FSR, Radeon Anti-Lag, and Radeon Boost, can work together thanks to this technology.
  • Compatible with AMD Smart Access Memory technology, as long as OEM support is available, when used with AMD 500 Series or later motherboards with the most recent BIOS, AMD Radeon RX 5000 Series or later GPUs, and Ryzen 3000 Series or later CPUs (with some models excluded).
  • For improved streaming clarity, it has an enhanced media engine.
  • The most recent ultra-high refresh monitors can be used with the upgraded Radiance Display Engine, which has DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b.
  • Longevity-focused and equipped with Future-Ready Technology.
  • Designed to work smoothly with AMD Ryzen 9000 Series processors to maximise AM5 platform capabilities.

ASROCK AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Challenger Connectivity and Resolution:

One HDMI 2.1b and three DisplayPort 2.1a ports. It has a Digital Max Resolution of 7680×4320 and supports up to three displays for multi-viewing. You can use HDCP.

Power:

The recommended PSU for the card is 550W, and it requires a single 8-pin power connector. For better thermal results and performance, power delivery components include Dr. MOS, an integrated power stage designed for synchronous buck-set down voltage applications. It can deliver up to 50A of continuous current per phase. Additionally, it makes use of Premium 90A Power Chokes, which offer significantly higher Vcore voltage and up to three times the saturation current of conventional chokes.

Cooling system

Performance and quietness are balanced by the card’s dual fan design, which maximises cooling efficiency. The stripe structure on each blade and the polishing surface on the bottom side of the fans’ Striped Axial Fan design are designed to improve airflow. With its 0dB Silent Cooling feature, the fans turn off at low temperatures for total quiet and turn back on when the temperature rises. Heatpipes that are Ultra-fit and consolidated to maximize contact with the GPU baseplate for optimal heat dissipation are part of the cooling configuration.

The gap between pipes and stacked fins is efficiently isolated using high-density metal welding, which enhances heat dissipation. Nano Thermal Paste is used to maximize heat transfer and close gaps in the contact region. The heatsink receives heat from components thanks to high-quality thermal pads. In order to prevent damage to the GPU die and maximize cooler mounting pressure for thermal efficiency, precise screw torque is used during assembly.

ASROCK AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Challenger Hardware and PCB:

The card features a stylish metal backplate that prevents PCB bending and improves cooling through the use of thermal pads. For decorating, it has LED indicators that may be turned on or off using an LED On/Off Switch. A 2 oz copper PCB for lower temperatures and greater energy efficiency, a matte black PCB with an enigmatic colour scheme, and a high density glass fabric PCB to close gaps between layers and guard against electrical shorts due to humidity are all part of the PCB architecture.

ASROCK AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Challenger Software

Performance is controlled by AMD Software Adrenaline Edition, which is defined as user-friendly, offering reliable drivers, real-time AI-powered support, and one-click AMD HYPR-RX optimization. Higher frame rates, less lag, and crisper graphics are some of the ways this software improves gameplay.

Dimensions and Weight:

The card weighs 645 g and measures 249 x 132 x 41 mm.

Availability and Pricing

The official MSRP of the ASRock AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Challenger 16GB OC graphics card is $349 USD, and the card is expected to be on sale worldwide on June 5, 2025.
