Apple Watch Black Unity Sport Loop With Rhythm Watch Face

Black History Month is celebrated with a new Apple Watch Black Unity Sport Loop, watch face, and iPhone and iPad wallpapers that are inspired by the beat of humanity.

To commemorate Black History Month and to honour Black culture and community, Apple today announced a new Black Unity Collection. The collection features iPhone and iPad wallpapers, a matching watch face, and a limited-edition Apple Watch Black Unity Sport Loop that are all inspired by the beat of mankind.

Apple is assisting a number of international organisations whose work centres on rhythm, creativity, and community as part of the launch. These include donations to the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville, Tennessee; the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney; the Music Forward Foundation in Los Angeles; the Ellis Marsalis Centre for Music in New Orleans; and the Battersea Arts Centre in London. Apple Watch long-time dedication to expanding economic, educational, and artistic possibilities in communities worldwide is strengthened by its support of these organisations.

The new collection was designed in collaboration with Apple’s Black friends and creatives. The series, Unity Rhythm, combines the red, green, and black hues of the Pan-African flag. A lenticular effect is produced by the Black Unity Sport Loop‘s unique raised and recessed loop weaving pattern, which reveals red on one side of each loop and green on the other. when if by magic, the colours look dynamic while the band is worn, changing from green to red when the user rotates their wrist. Yellow then appears throughout the changeover.

The handmade numbers on the matching Unity Rhythm watch face are made of interwoven red, green, and yellow threads.

When a user lifts their wrist to check the time, the strands transform from a sequence of abstract brush strokes into numerals because the watch face responds to the gyroscope. Every hour and half hour is marked by unique, rhythmic chimes while the Unity Rhythm watch face is in use.

The Unity Rhythm wallpapers for iPhone and iPad use the same unique alphabet to write the word “Unity,” which shifts position depending on whether the device is locked or unlocked.
